Lilliput Lane "Holiday on High"
Holiday on High, Sandringham, Norfolk
Our delightful little holiday retreat has been inspired by Appleton Water Tower, an impressive Victorian water tower which was built on the grounds of the Royal Sandringham Estate in 1871 and is now owned by the Landmark Trust and available as a holiday let. The tower was built by Edward, Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII) after he contracted typhoid, the same disease which had previously taken the life of his father Prince Albert, during a visit to the estate. After investigations, the cesspools were deemed to be the source of the problem and so this tower was constructed to provide safe water for the estate. Today, the accommodation is spread over three floors and above the 32,000-gallon cast-iron tank that tops the 60-foot tower is a roof-top terrace, providing a spectacular 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside. Truly the perfect place for those who wish to experience a 'Holiday on High'. Each figurine comes in its own colour branded gift box and dedicated deed card. Not a toy or children's product. Intended for adults only.
