Lilliput Lane Snug As A Bug
SNUG AS A BUG, COOMBE KEYNES, DORSET. What better place to tuck up ‘snug as a bug’ for a romantic weekend than this delightful B&B in Coombe Keynes, Purbeck, Dorset? Parts of this pretty Grade-II-Listed cottage date back to the early sixteenth century,
when it was built in the vernacular style of the area. Its old cobs walls are still topped with a glorious roof of thatch, under which peep three upper floor windows. The idyllic hamlet of Coombe Keynes appeared as Cume in the Domesday Book (1086), the Keynes suffix refers to the de Cahaignes family (later Lords of the Manor). It is ideally situated for the exploration of Devon’s wonderful historic heritage, in fact it doesn’t come any older than this, being just a few fields away, as the crow flies, from Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coastline World Heritage Site.
